Amongst those pioneer UFWD seeds, Linfa was the star of the class .  He rose, meteorically, to Head Scientist at Aus's peak bio-security institution, CSIRO - where he  invented bat viruses as an industry - from scratch.  

On top of that he co-invented (with George Gao) sino-western scio-security cooperation by being simultaneously Chair of WIV Advisory Board whilst Head Scientist at CSIRO & Director EID's, Duke Singapore.  Holy Bat Web!

The Aussie experts - it must be said - were soft targets:  not real smart - prone to flattery, greed -  enjoy hiking, designing/enforcing strict compliance with globalized security laws for the common people.

In 2015 Linfa finished up at CSIRO, moved permanently to Singapore - his work in Aus was done.  I wonder if, on the plane out, he felt something of Darwin's sentiments as he sailed off in 1836.

Darwin:  Farewell Australia .. you are too great and ambitious for affection, yet not enough for respect; I leave your shores without sorrow or regret.

He has now assumed his rightful position as global Director of the sino-western bio-disease headquarters at Duke Singapore, whilst continuing on at WIV.

It was from this control-centre that Linfa co-ordinated the disinformation campaign through the Lancet Statement that launched a final thrust towards a globalized bio-state. 

Say what you like, but you have to admit Linfa is a master manipulator on an epic stage.
