It’s been one month & 2 days since i lasted started a fire. I don’t mean to start them - in my mind i'm a *fire spotter* - perched in the Big Hill Tower - with good binoculars - watching out over the Grampians for the tell-tale sign of smoke - an Indian philosophical breakthrough in logic: W*here there's smoke, there's fire ...* But alas, wherever i go, hey presto, it's the opposite of what i'd imagined, instead of preventing small fires from growing larger, a fire springs up with every step - makes a life of its own - becomes *a bad master* - it's that nightmare where everything is unravelling out of your control - an inescapable fate no matter what you do ... But fuck it. In my mind i'm still the fire-spotter guy on Big Hill - if i see smoke, i'll report it - if that creates other fires - then they were always going to happen anyway ... (side note: the most common way that fires start in Aus, despite what-they-tell-u, is farmers/govt officials doing *seasonal burns* that either get out of control, or more dangerously, smoulder on until you get a heatwave crescendoing in a 40C day with big northerlies) Hi, my name is Mike.
