# Pete the Pariah? Postscript (9 months later, Sep 2, '21) A while ago i started writing a semi-fictional movie script where a tight-knit *cohort* of scientists decided to release a SARS-like superbug in order to (a) get rich & (b) *Save the World* According to their twisted logic a virus-release would boost the power of THE Science Community, which would then *save the world* ... from global-warming ... or conspiracy theorists ... or democracy ... or u-name-it ... The *deaths* of the old & frail would be unfortunate, a *necessary evil*, but function as an over-due global-house-cleaning ... a *reset* ...) Pete was a prototype character, of course (along with the Prox-O-5. Not much of ***a*** scientist, actually, but a great *Celebrity Scientist*. That was his contribution to *THE Science* cause. Which he *loved* doing. Going on CNN, chatting to journos from *THE Guardian* - it was a buzz - like only a *performer* gets. Playing the *Eco-Health* game for all it was worth (which was already *a lot* - became *the mother-lode*) - to a gullible audience. His love of/addiction to being a Celebrity Scientist was met by the media's love of/addiction to platforming him - a perfect self-sustaining loop of energy. Until it wasn't ... Towards the end of that movie, our characters fly to China, as they have done regularly throughout their careers. But this time the CCP arrests them at the airport, blames them for the release of Covid. They are accused them of duping *Bat Lady* & T*he Dark Knight* whilst operating an undercover-plot for the *imperialist forces of the west* to bring down China. Xi Jinping declared: *Their names are to be nailed to the mast of infamy* News report: *They're currently awaiting a trial date for mass-murder at an undisclosed location. China's foreign ministry spokesperson asked other countries not to meddle in the internal affairs of China.* Which ... they didn't. Due to the international nature of scientists releasing a deadly virus on the world, a joint report from US intelligence agencies decided it was better to *let-it-slide*. A few sacrificial lambs. A cohort of *rogue scientists acting alone*. Tie up the loose ends. Same as we did with [*Anthrax*](https://dulandrift.formosahut.com/books/anthrax-rap/page/anthrax). Now, *if* this China Embassy *leak* is accurate, we might have a case of art-imitating-life-imitating-art... [China Embassy in France:](https://archive.is/z8EyS#selection-1147.615-1147.1361) *According to an article published in the scientific journal Nature in 2018, a **Fort Detrick researcher** had collaborated with **Ralph Baric** to infect monkeys with genetically modified MERS-CoV.* Which is, i'm guessing, without looking it up, *true*, as shocking as it sounds - all kinds of *batshit-crazy* stuff was going on in the Bat GoF-world at that time. *Right before* Covid happened. It's a big development though for the CCP to go after a Western Scientist as originator of Covid. At the same time, we **firmly oppose** all forms of **political manipulation**.* *Take the politics out - trust the global-scientists -* same line that Dominic Dwyer, Aussie-WHO-Investigator loves [parroting](https://dulandrift.formosahut.com/books/dominic-e-dwyer-who-investigator/page/expert-liar). *China has **shared** more data and **research findings** on SARS-CoV-2 origin**s** study than any other country. This **fully demonstrates** China’s **open, transparent** and responsible attitude and its support for the **work of the WHO** and **SAGO**. China will continue to support **science-based global origins tracing** and keep up communication and **cooperation** with the **WHO**.* It's rare to read an official pronouncement on Covid that's not full of lies, but the above, apart from the *fully demonstrating* CCP being *open & transparent*, obviously, is all true. CCP & WHO *are* basically the same Org - exact same messaging: *listen to science-based global origins tracers* (which we *have-in-our-pockets*) So, imaging wise this leak from the Chinese Embassy in France is *shocking* ... but not surprising. CCP knows exactly what happened, they're not gonna be above playing their cards if it does fully come-out that it was *science based global-origin-tracers* that caused it.. You're gonna manoeuvre in that space. Below the surface ... With that thinking framework, you're gonna go after Baric, the guy did more to bring GoF research to China than anyone. Which was fine until he authored a key [Backflip Olympics statement](https://science.sciencemag.org/content/372/6543/694.1) earlier in the year, pointedly not ruling out a lab-event. Rat-jumping-ship - of course you target Baric. But then there's this: *In December 2019, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, **Peter Daszak, president of the EcoHealth Alliance**, a New York-based NGO, **admitted\*** in an interview with This Week in Virology that his alliance had **cooperated with Ralph Ba**ric and the University of North Carolina to **modify coronaviruses in the lab using genetic technology**, so viruses can take over **human cells**. After studying more than 100 species of viruses similar to SARS-CoV, they **discovered** that certain viruses can cause **serious illnesses** that are incurable and unresponsive to vaccines.* (You'd be stunned by how much self-incriminating stuff was *admitted* on *TWIV*, a super-friendly *THE Science podcast* space) So now the CCP is going after poor old Pete!? No non-Chinese person on the planet\* has done more to cover for the CCP than Peter Daszak:

Technically, Pete's Org may have caused the whole catastrophe & he was only ever trying to protect his own arse, which coincided with the CCP's interests, but stilll ... We've already [speculated](http://formosahut.com/forum/index.php?id=2777) that Baric has flipped (cooperating with US Security Agencies, he fully-flipped with pike in terms of his anti-lab-leak position), but this makes me wonder, has Daszak flipped too? Hence the attack by the CCP? Or is the CCP turning on him proactively, making some moves. Pete always struck me as the weak-link - he's vain, a moral-charlatan ... and in-the-thick of *everything* - therefore susceptible to breaking in a robust interrogation - especially if immunity was on the table. The question is, if either of these two have flipped: Do the US intelligence agencies have the will to act on it? Probably not. For the same reasons that the Covid cover-up involved so many higher-ups from the beginning - they saw themselves *as too big to fail* - nothing has changed there. Same way you need to *print money* to bail out a major bank that's fucked-up, we need to print BS to to bail out *THE Science*. We have to ... coz of *contagion to the system.* Think of the damage it could do to the public's general *Trust*. There would be a *run on Trust ... in THE Experts*. Which would create: *chaos*. If you're the establishment, got everything humming along nicely ... you can't have that. Which is exactly what happened. The consequences of exposing the origin of Covid involves exposing the core corruption of the whole *rule by experts* system. That would mean the experts exposing themselves & admitting gross fraud that resulted in the deaths of however many millions of people. Of all the systemic-corruption cases i've looked into, never encountered a single one where the subjects willingly came clean. Here's another possibility: The CCP also didn't understand the *extent* of what-the-hell Batman, Baric, [The Dark Knight](https://dulandrift.formosahut.com/books/lin-fa-wang-the-dark-knight/page/bat-lady-the-dark-knight) (Linfa Wang) and Bat Lady et al were up to. Likely even. As they point out in the missive - the whole crazy GoF thing was a western scientists' invention. Which is true. When it was banned in 2014 in the US, the whole circus migrated to China - at a time when the CCP was busily milking western academics for their tech secrets. Match made in heaven - until it all blew up. With GoF brought to you by *Pete & Ralph* though - did CCP folks get more than they bargained for? This makes intuitive sense. 1. The Bat Pack were busily trying to engineer a super-bug, which they reasoned would be a funding-jackpot (which it was) 2. They succeeded 3. The super-bug exited the building This explains the weird situation where both sides, the West & China, are co-operating to cover-up the origin - coz they're both guilty of producing Covid. As to how it exited the building, deliberate or accidental, i still lean towards an accident (despite my movie-script), though the motive for a deliberate release is clearly there - along with a compelling precedent in the [Anthrax Terrorist Attacks.](https://dulandrift.formosahut.com/books/anthrax-rap/page/who-dunnit) As for poor old Pete, it remains an open question as to where he might get arrested first - US or China? Although both establishments will continue to promulgate the cover-up, it may well get to the point where a sacrificial-lamb needs to be offered up ... Same as it did with Anthrax (Bruce Ivins) seven years after the event - when the FBI could no longer suppress the fact that it was a scientist-orchestrated event.
