# Peter Daszak: Batman If Covid was an engineered bat virus, then EcoHealth Alliance, was at the heart of it. Daszak, as head of EHA, led the cover-up operation - aided by the world's largest media platforms. Daszak is a close collaborator with W. Ian Lipkin, an author of the notorious *[Proximal Origin](http://formosahut.com/forum/index.php?id=2052)* paper that purported to 'prove' Covid had not leaked from a lab - it was [pangolins that done it](http://formosahut.com/forum/index.php?id=2053). They have co-authored several papers and articles and have been accused of *[misinterpretation of data implicating dromedary camels in MERS](https://mbio.asm.org/content/5/4/e01482-14)* during a [shady trip to Saudi Arabia](https://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/28/health/some-scientists-cast-doubt-on-finding-on-origins-of-mers-virus.html) in which *frozen samples accidentally were thawed en route to Columbia University*. Thanks partially to a world-first critique of the Proximal Origin paper [published by](http://formosahut.com/forum/index.php?id=2052) Formosa Hut in May 2020, and subsequent exposure from a group called [DRASTIC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/DRASTIC?src=hashtag_click), that paper has now been discredited as a high-powered academic fraud committed on the behalves of the CCP and western interests. Before that though, the paper's *pangolin findings* were headlines in all major media outlets around the world for several weeks, during which time it achieved its purpose of suppressing speculation about a lab-leak. The debunking of that paper, on which all arguments that Covid was natural in origin were initially based, received almost no coverage. At best, it was reduced to a by-line, such as in [ this Dec 2020 puff-piece ](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/virus-hunters-unveils-team-10-scientists-trace-covid-19-origins/) about the upcoming WHO investigation that quietly mentions further examination *appeared to rule out pangolins (as) none had tested positive*. Remember, this bedrock paper, published by Nature & authored by scientists with [massive China COIs](http://formosahut.com/forum/index.php?id=2039), was touted by the bulk of the science community (including Daszak) & all main-stream media, as incontrovertible evidence that Covid was a natural event. Turned out to be a load of made-up crap. I'd have thought ***Top Scientists linked to CCP spread disinformation about Covid Origins*** would be a good headline - i'd read it. But it seems *now is not the right time to talk about that*. # EcoHealth Alliance-WIV Daszak is the head of [EcoHealth Alliance](https://www.ecohealthalliance.org/), Lipkin is a frequent collaborator with Daszak. EcoHealth scientists, including Daszak and Baric, have been [frequent collaborators](https://scholar.google.com.au/scholar?q=Peter+Daszak+Shi+Zheng-li&hl=en&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart) with those from Wuhan Institute of Virology where GoF (Gain-of-Function) experiments on bat viruses are performed, [ref](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4936131/) [ref](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4936131/) [ref](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4936131/). Shi Zheng-li (Bat Lady), WIV, was part of the EHA team in 2008 that inserted a SARS sequence into an infectious bat virus backbone (SL-CoVs) to [make it more infectious](https://jvi.asm.org/content/82/4/1899). They wrote such research was *invaluable in formulating control strategies for potential future outbreaks*. In [this article](https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/04/29/847948272/why-the-u-s-government-stopped-funding-a-research-project-on-bats-and-coronaviru) Daszak reportedly brags that EcoHealth Alliance, in conjunction with WIV have: *...racked up quite a number of successes. The team and its collaborators at the Wuhan Institute of Virology have collected about **15,000 samples from bats**. From these they have already **identified** ...about 50 (that) fall into a category that caused SARS and ... COVID-19.* 15,000 bat viruses! That place was/is a weapons factory waiting to explode. With up to 50 that potentially could have served as a progenitor for Covid. So that's confirmation from the horse's mouth (probably a blundering one) that WIV was holding bat viruses that could have caused Covid. *About 50 of them*! *The researchers were also able to demonstrate that at least some of the **new bat coronaviruses they have found are capable of infecting a human cell in a petri dish**.* Great. Let's unpack that. Peter Daszak, nicknamed Batman, was doing GoF experiments with Bat Lady at WIV. WIV experiments involve collecting bat viruses, then engineering them (using other animals) so they are able to (a) infect human cells, & (b) become contagious human-to-human. They also repeatedly *passaged* bat viruses through other animals (in a way not possible in nature) to produce mutations that may be infectious to humans. All this to ***formulate control strategies for potential future outbreaks.*** (Bear in mind this was 2008 - how did your control strategies go after 12 years of research?) [Ecohealth's $3 mil funding was withdrawn](https://www.forbes.com/sites/jackbrewster/2020/05/12/us-group-that-works-with-chinese-on-infectious-disease-research-had-federal-grant-revoked/?sh=13b1eb1d4834) in May 2020 due to its ties to China. In July, NIH restored the funding but with [the following stipulations](https://www.biospace.com/article/1nih-awards-ecohealth-alliance-7-5-million-grant-despite-political-furor/), including: *-provide a sample of the pandemic coronavirus that WIV used to determine the viral genetic sequence \- arrange for an outside inspection of WIV and its records with specific attention to addressing the question of whether WIV staff had SARS-CoV-2 in their possession prior to December 2019 \- explain diminished cell-phone traffic in October 2019, and the evidence that there may have been roadblocks surrounding the facility from October 14-19, 2019 \- provide the NIH with WIV’s responses to the 2018 Department of State cables regarding safety concerns.* EcoHealth has refused to comply. EcoHealth 'pioneered' the push for Remdesivir as a treatment, which was approved, (ke-ching! Big-time) but it didn't seem to stop Covid. Let's say you do think there's a possibility that the virus leaked from an Wuhan lab. It's then a reasonable deduction, that if it did, Peter Daszak and EHA's go-to Gain-of-Function whizzes, [Ralph Baric](https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/01/chinese-researchers-reveal-draft-genome-virus-implicated-wuhan-pneumonia-outbreak) & [Linfa Wang](https://dulandrift.formosahut.com/books/lin-fa-wang-the-dark-knight/page/the-godfather-of-bat-viruses) (CSIRO/WIV) worked on that virus. (note: Daszak wasn't much of a scientist - his specialty was PR, rustling up funding) The question then is: How the heck is Daszak's appointment to this elite panel of WHO investigators not a massive conflict of interest? The guy is a leading *person-of-interest* in any serious investigation. It's hard to imagine a person on earth with more to lose from a lab-event finding than Daszak. Already accused of [misinterpreting data](https://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/28/health/some-scientists-cast-doubt-on-finding-on-origins-of-mers-virus.html) re MERS in a deal with the Saudi regime, here he is running interference for another totalitarian regime, the CCP, in order to shield attention from his own involvement with WIV. (all quotes from Daszak's Guardian article - all brackets are mine) ***Ignore the Conspiracy Theories: Scientists know Covid-19 wasn't Created in a Lab*** *In a recent interview with the Telegraph, the former [head of MI6 Sir Richard Dearlove cited](https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/3945654) an “important” [scientific report](https://www.minervanett.no/files/2020/07/13/TheEvidenceNoNaturalEvol.pdf) that suggested that the novel coronavirus had not emerged naturally, but had been created by Chinese scientists. Dearlove said he believed* (he never said *believed*) *the pandemic had “started as an accident” after the virus escaped the lab.* Daszak has stated his propositions in the title. His use of a pejorative term, *Conspiracy Theories* (don't debate them - *ignore them*), in the heading is telling - as is the use of *Scientists know.* Not *theorize* mind you*- that's what those nasty Conspiracy Theorists do -* no *- Scientists just know. Which is all you non-scientist people need to know.* They *don't know* as a point of fact *coz* this is before the WHO Investigation has even started, but it's telling that Daszak (a) purports to represent all scientist & (b) insists in bold as his *Headline* that they already *know* the result of an investigation that hasn't yet happened. Daszak then posits the-argument-against up front: Any investigation into Covid's origin (on which Daszak is a WHO Investigator) should include an examination of the possibility that it leaked from an Wuhan lab. Which is all they're arguing - i'm curious how you're going to counter that ... But it's commendable academic format - put the headline argument of your opponents (Sir Richard Dearlove & Prof Birger Sørensen) out there - then methodically take it apart. If you’re good enough… This should be interesting - Daszak V Dearlove - a heavyweight clash of the experts! *World Health Org* V *Ex-MI6 Head* ... WIV scientists have published papers on engineering viruses to make them more contagious [since 2008](https://jvi.asm.org/content/82/4/1899) - it’s *what they do there* - it’s what *[you do there](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4936131/)* - to protect us, remember? In case something like Covid ever happens… whereupon, you & rest of the Bat-Pack become cartoon heroes (whilst making a killing). Maybe that's coming soon - let's see ... # Logic & Reason ***Daszak - The Guardian*** *Determining the origins and emergence of a pandemic is as messy and complex as studying a [plane crash](https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jun/09/conspiracies-covid-19-lab-false-pandemic).* *Just as an air crash investigator pieces together fragments at a crash site, pinpointing the origins of a new virus is **painstakingly difficult*** (not so difficult as you're making out Pete - we’ll look at that later) ...and **time-consuming** (= public money-consuming; to pay for the time consuming) ... *and requires **logic and reason***. (tautology, but agreed). So using *logic and reason*, if the plane crashed in Wuhan - wouldn’t you investigate the site of the crash in Wuhan? Look for the black box? In this case: WIV’s internationally accessible database on which new viruses are meant to be logged? Wuhan was not on the radar. It should have been. Given WIV was/is housing *more than 16 000 bat viruses*, it should be coloured blazing red. Daszak's research partner, Shi Zheng-li (Bat Lady) [commented when first told of the outbreak](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-chinas-bat-woman-hunted-down-viruses-from-sars-to-the-new-coronavirus1/): *I wondered if \[the municipal health authority\] got it wrong. I had never expected this kind of thing to happen in Wuhan, in central China.* Shi had pegged Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan to be China’s hotspots for a bat to human crossover event. Her first thoughts were: *Could they have come from our lab?* The bottom-line is: None of EcoHealth’s scientists (with all their millions in funding) predicted an outbreak in Wuhan. So either their research has been a waste of money - or - there’s another explanation for why it happened in Wuhan - it came from the lab. It also puts you in a *unique* conflict of interest position - whereby one might be tempted to suppress incriminating evidence and spread disinformation in order to cover one’s *unique* arse. *(W)e reported 781 genetic sequences of bat-origin coronaviruses previously unknown to scientists (including) the closest known relatives to Sars-CoV-2.* Good job. Again confirming that the *closest **known** relative**s*** (not only RaTG13) *to SARS-Cov-2* were held at WIV ... prior to the Covid outbreak. That bears repeating, not only RaTG13, but other undisclosed bat viruses collected from all over the SE Asia *"hotspots"* were held at the Bat Lab. If you have other viruses at WIV *closely related* to Covid, why haven't you released them? Sorry, *made them public* is better phrasing, coz you may well have *released* them, right? With a few modifications. ***All** are carried by horseshoe bats that are found across southern China* (1000 kilometres away) *and neighbouring countries.* (even further away) But not Wuhan. That’s why [Bat Lady thought](http://formosahut.com/forum/index.php?id=2055) it had leaked from the lab. *Our report firmly concludes that Covid-19 originated in bats, **in a hotspot** **of viral evolution** along the border of Yunnan province in China, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam.* Hang on Pete, that’s illogical and/or misleading. All it proves is that Covid is related to a strain of virus that the *Bat Pack* held at WIV, which we already suspected & you've now *horse's-mouth* confirmed. Still don't know all the different kinds or what crazy GoF-shit you had cooking-up with them though. We don't know that coz the database was taken down on **Sep 12, 2019**. Whatever: it definitely doesn’t prove the geographical origin of the outbreak to have been 1000s of ks away from where it actually broke-out - right-next-door to the Bat Lab in Wuhan. *Unfortunately, this sort of logic* (illogical logic) *will not deter **conspiracy theorists*** (such as former head of MI6 [Sir Richard Dearlove](https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/3945654), the guy you're arguing with). You're right there, Pete, it won't deter us from getting to The Origin of Covid. If anything, it casts more suspicion on WIV - the real "*hotspot" of viral evolution* - with a little evolutionary help from your friends. You were all there busily GoFFing-up viruses, to *make them contagious to humans* (to get more funding, weirdly), when, against all your predictions, there was an outbreak in Wuhan, *right-next-door* to the Bat Lab. Now you want to rule out a leak from WIV? That’s not logical. RatG13, the closest known relative to SARS-Cov-2, was [collected from the same Yunnan cave](https://heraclitusoncovid19.com/origin-of-covid-19/) where 6 miners contracted a suspected *SARS-like illness* in 2012 according to a [Kun Ming Medical University paper](https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6981198-Analysis-of-Six-Patients-With-Unknown-Viruses.html) at the time. Three of them died. On one hand, WIV scientists (Shi Zhengli) [dismissed that 2102 report](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-55364445) as being *neither based on evidence nor logic, (b)ut used by conspiracy theorists to doubt me,* saying the miners merely had a fungal infection, not a coronavirus. On the other hand, they’re (EHA/WIV) saying, *with a remarkable degree of confidence*, that the same viruses collected from that cave, *the closest known relative**s** to SARS-CoV-2*, are responsible for the super-contagious-to-humans virus, Covid. Those propositions are contradictory. [For the record](https://dulandrift.formosahut.com/books/dominic-e-dwyer-who-investigator/page/sars-origin-of-scio-celebrity), there is no firm evidence that a deadly bat-coronavirus has ever directly infected a human in the wild & become contagious to other humans. Despite what you hear. The narrative always involves some *mysterious intermediary species*. The more we investigate the origin of Covid, the more that intermediary species looks to be *THE Scientists* themselves. # Dark Powers **Daszak's Concluding Argument** *The **dark power** of the **internet** means that anyone, anywhere, can find evidence to echo even the **most outlandish of claims**.* Pete, insisting that the CCP, a textbook *Dark Power*, is [*open and transparent*](https://dulandrift.formosahut.com/books/the-covid-atrocity/page/lancet-statement-07k), as you've repeatedly done, *is* the *most outlandish* *claim* imaginable. Such **conspiracies** play to our most base instincts and paranoias – fears that **dissolve logic and reason**.* Cool! I don’t know what the *World-Record-Strawman* is, but that’d give it a shake. Apart from his own knowledge of how the CCP works, as ex-head of MI6, he provided the Sorensen, Dalgleish paper as evidence. **You:** feel threatened by that so resort to childish name-calling. Hence the attack by the CCP? Or is the CCP turning on him proactively, making some moves. Pete always struck me as the weak-link - he's vain, a moral-charlatan ... and in-the-thick of *everything* - therefore susceptible to breaking in a robust interrogation - especially if immunity was on the table. The question is, if either of these two have flipped: Do the US intelligence agencies have the will to act on it? Probably not. For the same reasons that the Covid cover-up involved so many higher-ups from the beginning - they saw themselves *as too big to fail* - nothing has changed there. Same way you need to *print money* to bail out a major bank that's fucked-up, we need to print BS to to bail out *THE Science*. We have to ... coz of *contagion to the system.* Think of the damage it could do to the public's general *Trust*. There would be a *run on Trust ... in THE Experts*. Which would create: *chaos*. Which is exactly what happened. The consequences of exposing the origin of Covid involves exposing the core corruption of the whole *rule by experts* system. That would mean the experts exposing themselves & admitting gross fraud that resulted in the deaths of however many millions of people. Of all the systemic-corruption cases i've looked into, never encountered a single one where the subjects willingly came clean.
