All three suspect scientists in the anthrax mailings worked under Franz at Fort Detrick/USAMRIID (US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases). It was blamed on a *lone-gunman-style-scientist* in the protracted, seven year-end, where the suspect Bruce Ivins conveniently committed suicide - but it was the generational, *secret, corrupt culture* that grew him. The culture was the problem long before Ivins came along. But instead of being corrected, it was rewarded by an explosion in funding. Humanity's sliding doors moment. Nice locations - nice hotels - keynote addresses from Bill Gates & Zuckerberg.* *Rubbing-shoulders with THE Globo-Scio-Community* (91% paid by normal people). The thing about *Big-Not-for-Profit Orgs* is the *Profit* is gobbled up in wages & expense-accounts by the *Top-Gobblers* - like Pete ... Despite being largely ineffectual (same as it had been with Ebola & MERS), it was the only antiviral drug approved by the FDA, netting its backers billions. It's unclear to what extent, if any, Daszak financially benefited from this windfall.
