The Godfather of Bat Viruses

Linfa Wang:  It is human activity that enabled the virus to jump to people, and if nothing changes, many other pandemics of this nature will follow.

Funnily enough, we agree straight off the bat!

In the Covid Conspiracy card pack, Chinese-Australian Linfa Wang* is up there - Jack of Diamonds territory.  Don’t know why he hasn’t had more attention.  Is it a kind of perverse form of racism?  He gets overlooked coz he's not a white-guy?  Or is it the buttoned-down (boring) persona he projects of the nice scientist toiling quietly away for the common good?

It's a great painting by Huertas- very skillful.  It captures his veneer.   Which is, paradoxically, who he is: a Master Veneerist.

This was meant to be a deep-dive into a high-hanging fruit - if that makes sense - which it doesn't.  Turned out everything we need to know about Linfa is in the shallows of his veneer.  Weird, right?

Whatever  -  let’s give Linfa some love …

Science, Sep 30, 2020: The work (on Covid) is a natural next chapter for Wang, who has been tracking viruses from bats to humans for more than 2 decades.

Firstly - Covid does have a natural origin - human nature natural - second:

more than two decades - so before even SARS.

That’s uncanny.

As soon as Linfa starts studying bat coronaviruses, humanity, at the exact same point in space/time, is plagued with a series of bat virus events.  We’re fortunate Linfa came along when he did!  Right in time to save us all.  Don’t know if Linfa is religious but i’d love to ask: Did you have some kind of premonition - a revelation from God?

Science:  Marion Koopmans (WHO investigator/Feb 1 Teleconferencer), a virologist at Erasmus Medical Center, credits him for essentially launching the field of bat immunology and developing the tools to pursue it.

Koopmans: He has made a heroic effort to establish a very challenging research line, which needed to start from scratch.

Holy Bat Cave!  Mr. Under-the-radar-Wang-Lin-fa invented bat viruses - from scratch.

Can’t get more proximal origin than that.  Not only Covid, but the whole shebang chain of events.  I’m upgrading his card to Joker in the pack.

CSIRO, 2007: Geelong scientist, Dr Linfa Wang .. also led Australian research efforts to characterise a new virus named Beilong. This discovery was the result of another global research partnership. The paramyxovirus is named after the two cities that collaborated – Beijing and Geelong.

Beilong. So poetic. Linfa, the ultimate interface guy, led the invention of not only bat viruses but a Sino/Aus-friendship commemorative virus.  No better person to do it than the pioneer embedder from the United Front Work Dept.

Science, Sep 30: By pure chance, Linfa Wang, one of the world's foremost experts on emerging viruses, was in the Chinese city of Wuhan in January.

If you don't believe Science, ask Duke, his employer:

Duke Singapore: It was by pure chance that bat expert Wang Linfa found himself in the Chinese city of Wuhan in January 2020.

Science:  The biologist was visiting collaborators at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) just as SARS-CoV-2 was starting to spread from the city to the rest of the world.

Duke Singapore:  Wang was attending the annual scientific retreat at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).

Ohr.   By pure chance, Linfa Wang was in Wuhan in early Jan, attending a scientific retreat - at the Bat Lab - with Shi Zhengli.  The Bat Lab, by pure chance, is right in the vicinity of where SARS-2 originated.

Then, by even more pure serendipity, straight after Linfa Wang returned to Singapore he got involved in drafting the Lancet Statement with Daszak.  We’ll explore those juicy details later -  but first some backstory …

(* His surname is Wang -  in China he’s Wang Professor or Wang Lin-fa - (Wung Lin-far - not Linffer) in the west he’s Linfa Wang - Wang is a super-common Chinese surname - most of them are -  Linfa is more distinctive - it’s pretty cool that he kept it - most (George Gao) adopt an English name.)

Curriculum Vitae - Mr Interface

Everything you need to know about Wang is in this CV helpfully posted by his current employer, Duke - though pretty sure Linfa wrote it himself (a couple of typos Linfa- but otherwise excellent).  His journey from East China Normal University to the New Global Normal Universe - it’s all there.

I’d love to say i had a network of deepthroats for sources - but it’s not like that.  Often enough - the best stuff is on the subject's own website - or in puff-piece interviews they give to enabling media platforms. Vanity is their great undoing. Making their own publicity - fervently believing it, preaching it …

Thereby leaving a trail of incrimination. Thanks!

EMPLOYMENT AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

2012.7-present: Director and Professor, Program in Emerging Infectious Diseases, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore

1990-2015: CSIRO, (Commonwealth  Science & Industrial Research Organisation).

including:

2008-2015: Science Leader, CSIRO Australian Animal Health Laboratory

He's only had those two jobs - held them simultaneously from 2012-15. He's no fly-by-nighter.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

January 1982-1986: B.S. (Honour) Biology (Biochemistry), East China Normal University

June, 1986 - 1989:  Ph.D. Biochemistry (Molecular Biology), University of California, Davis

1981-1982:  Linfa won Outstanding Undergraduate Award, East China Normal University, top notch uni in a country of 1.3 billion.  Then a scholarship to UC Davis. So, unlike Farrar or Daszak for instance, Linfa is genuinely smart - as a geneticist at least. Pretty smart at keeping in the shadows as well. You can have all the FOI emails you like, i'll be surprised if you catch Linfa saying anything self-incriminatory - not like the other idiots - your Andersens, Garrys, Lipkins, Holmess, Daszaks etc

Funnily enough, he didn’t want to study biology:

Science: As a child growing up in Shanghai during the Cultural Revolution, Wang would listen to Mao Zedong's speeches through a loudspeaker in kindergarten. "I was thinking: ‘My God … how does his voice transfer from Beijing to Shanghai?'" Electrical engineering became his passion.

Inspired to study electrical-engineering by listening to Mao speeches on the public brainwashing system in kindergarten. Thinking My God… not at the content of the speeches (give him a break - he was 5-6 ), but the incredibleness of live broadcasting - the simultaneous oneness of it.  Developing that into a passion as a brilliant young student.

I bet Linfa would have been great at electrical-engineering - but that’s not quite how it works in the CCP universe.

He’d been identified as super-smart - his guardians had a field in mind for him deemed a higher priority:

Science: But after getting into the prestigious East China Normal University, Wang was dismayed when the faculty assigned him to study biology.

Linfa: I thought, ‘I don't like plants, I don't like animals.'  Going to a renowned university felt like going to heaven but the wrong door of heaven, basically, because I went to a biology department.

The wrong door of heaven. The wrong door to heaven is ... hell?  Is that what happened?  The world, through the agency of Linfa Wang, had a Sliding Doors moment - where humanity went through the wrong door?

Science: Secretly listening to Voice of America, Wang eventually became so proficient at English that he was chosen for a scholarship to study abroad.

Science is writing this as a puff-piece for Linfa - which is funny - coz i’m reading it as evidence of someone groomed from childhood by the CCP, inserted into UC Davis, then CSIRO Australia - where he invents bat viruses.

That makes Linfa one of The Originals.  In 1979, Deng Xiaoping re-invented/expanded the United Front Work Dept to include  infiltration operations overseas.  The simple, long-term goal was to influence the influencers - especially in academic institutions.  This is the exact time that Linfa was entering university in China, where he was groomed for an overseas posting at UC Davis upon graduating.  He was then assigned to Australia in 1990, where, over the next 25 years, he succeeded in rising to the top of CSIRO.

One thing that maybe western thinking doesn't get about Chinese thinking is the long game ...

surround the city with the country

Initially employed with great success in the civil war, it was repurposed to slowly, methodical infiltrate bio-security global institutions (amongst others). China's control of WHO is the obvious example.

It's important to remember, in China, Sun Tzu's Art of War is not some fleeting pop-psychology thing trending on Twitter - Tzu's philosophy is a core pillar of Chinese thought-culture.  Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

In a war, gradually infiltrate the system you wish to influence - don't go for the shock n awe big-prize at the start - take your time.  If you do it right, you will win control without a shot being fired.

Wang Linfa was an original graduate direct into this fledgling UFWD academia program.  George Gao was slightly later.  They both proved to be legendary students.

Bat Lady & The Dark Knight

Courtesy WIV website, 2005 (now deleted): Cohorts CahootingFrom left: Don't know, (i'd like to), Hume Field (Aus), Bat Lady, The Dark Knight, Batty Man

ABC interview at the Bat Lab, 2011:  Waiting on the secure side is Dr Linfa Wang - leader of the group known as the "bat pack" - and personally known as the bat virus man.  He's been working at the Animal Health Lab for 20 years.

Yeah, Bat Virus Man is pretty good - i still like Dark Knight - now i'm in a quandary.  Bat Pack though, that's great - can i use that?

As published by Formosahut in May 2020, there was a pivotal Bat-Pack GoF experiment in 2008 (same year Bat Virus Man was promoted to Head Scientist at CSIRO) that inserted a SARS S sequence into a bat virus to enable ACE-2 binding.

The experiments were conducted at WIV, led by Bat Lady & The Dark Knight - with Meng Yu, his wife, also employed by CSIRO.

Differences in Receptor Usage:  ACE2-binding activity of SL-CoVs was easily acquired by the replacement of a relatively small sequence segment of the S protein from the SARS-CoV S sequence.

Easy-peasy.

Differences in Receptor Usage: This work was jointly funded by .. a special fund from the president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (no. 1009), the Knowledge Innovation Program Key Project  (KSCX1-YW-R-07) to Z. Shi (Bat Lady), .. and the Australian Biosecurity CRC for Emerging Infectious Diseases (project 1.026RE) to L.-F. Wang (the Dark Knight)

(Aside: This is how rabbit-holey everything is: CRC, the funding arm for Linfa, was set up in 2002 (so pre-SARS) - one of its supporting members is Consortium for Conservation Medicine - which was one of Daszak’s & Epstein’s first incarnations of EcoHealth. What are they doing on an Australian bio-security org in 2002? CRC: The threats may be natural, accidental, or deliberate (as in bioterrorism). (CRC’s brackets))

So how did Linfa and Zhengli meet?

Their relationship, like most things Covid, goes back to SARS. Technically, Anthrax ignited the funding explosion, but SARS provided a new rallying point once it became clear the whole Anthrax bioterrorism attack was literally a(/some) Fort Detrick scientist(s) drumming up business for vaccines.

Science:  After WHO declared the epidemic over in July 2003, it put together a mission of eight scientists, including Wang, to investigate the origins of the virus in China.

Cool.  Linfa was an original WHO investigator representing CSIRO, Australia.  Dominic E. Dwyer (Westmead, Aussie) was also a WHO investigator for SARS - wonder if he was one of the eight?

Science:  Wang had a hunch bats could be the source, but the rest of the team was skeptical.  At a meeting in Beijing, Wang met the head of WIV, who suggested he collaborate with a scientist at her institute: Shi Zhengli, who was then studying viruses in fish and shrimp.

Linfa: She was the only virologist who believed me and was willing to collaborate with me.

So a legend was born: Bat Lady & the Dark Knight.  Bound by science - but also belief.

As Science notes, they took bat viruses from a fringe theory to an industry where the two have co-authored dozens of papers.

In 2005, they published a landmark paper with Daszak, Epstein (EHA) and other scientists from WIV/CSIRO, the original Bat Packers, titled Bats are Natural Reservoirs of SARS-like coronaviruses - which established their reputations in virology.

Zhengli & Linfa then shot to fame (along with Daszak) for finding the SARS-1 bat virus from the famous Yunnan caves. Though in fact, it was nothing of the sort - less than 97% - same range as RaTG13 & the Lao sample but typical zoonati - never let facts get in the way of a good zoonosis narrative. As Linfa admits in a different article:

Nature, Feb 26 2020: Even a 99% similarity between the RBDs of the two viruses is not necessarily enough to link them, says Linfa Wang, .. who was part of the team that found the origin of the SARS virus.

(A neat example of how blithely Nature pedals misinformation  - If 99% isn’t definitive, then how does nearly 97% = found the origin of SARS?)

In 2006 Linfa won: CSIRO Award for Excellence in Partnership, (SARS Team) (with Bat Lady),

Together they launched a worldwide bat virus hunting movement (with Dazza coming on as PR guy), often funded under the PREDICT umbrella. They were especially attracted to the Yunnan caves - but also SE Asia & Africa - the WIV website from 2016 says: WIV has also played a key role in the development of the CAS-African Research Center in Nairobi. (What are they up to there i wonder?)

NPR: Daszak says the China bat sampling project has already racked up quite a number of successes (to the tune of) 15,000 samples from bats. From these they have already identified ...about 50 (that) fall into a category that caused SARS and ... COVID-19, including all the building blocks for SARS.

Technically, i doubt Linfa was/is traipsing through the batcaves of SE Asia collecting samples - he doesn't like plants or animals for a start - Bat Lady does - loves the outdoors.  Not Linfa's cup of tea though.  His job starts when the samples get to the Bat Lab - that's where the magic begins.

So our duo are a slight odd couple - but they are old friends - and they do click:

Science: They also like to team up in karaoke bars to sing classic Chinese ballads, says Peter Daszak, a researcher at the EcoHealth Alliance, a New York City nonprofit, and a longtime collaborator with Wang and Shi

Pete: Linfa is an excellent singer and to see him and Shi Zhengli do a duet is very special.

I’m sure it is!  I’m wondering if we haven’t just seen a masterful performance.

We've already seen Linfa's (CSIRO's) connection to WIV through dozens of papers with Shi-WIV/(+Daszak-EcoHealth) - but does it go deeper?  Is that even possible?

Normally it would take weeks of painstaking research to untangle a subject's network of influence but luckily we can simply refer to Linfa's CV for the definitive answer.

(2005-): Honorary Professor, Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Oh.  So apart from the collabs, Linfa is an honorary WIV professor.  Not even Daszak, Lipkin, or Honorary Eddie Holmes had that honour. Rarefied-air alert.

Keep scrolling though, to Invited Positions, you find this one:

(2007-present -according to Duke): Chair, Scientific Advisory Board, Centre for Emerging Infectious Diseases, Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Whoa! Chair of the Advisory Board for WIV!  From 2007 to the time of the outbreak.  Still doing it.

How the heck was that sitting there in his online CV - but neither I (well i have now) nor anyone else has done a drill-down on this dude?  That's one helluva powerful position in a country of 1.3 billion.

The goal of these investigations is to swim up stream - put names/faces to the them. In Linfa Wang, we've got a live one - operating at the interface of Sino/West bio-alliance. Linfa is the interface.

We've established that THE Science = Hunter Biden:   entitled, addicted to hard drugs, off-the-rails, financially mixed up with the CCP

The question is:  We know Hunter's Daddy, but who is THE Science's Daddy?

Hello Linfa Wang.  It's a modern family situation - with several Daddies - but he's one of em.  Simultaneously Head Scientist at Aus's premier bio-security org and Chairman of the WIV Advisory Board.  Who can boast that level of sino-western interfacery?  George Gao, Ian Lipkin maybe - but not many.  The fact that China, with it's disturbing bio-state surveillance has been operating hand-in-hand with Australia on bio-security measures for over a decade is testimony to how perverted globalized science culture has become.

We can safely assume that it was in Linfa's capacity as Chairman that he visited WIV from Jan 11 - 14.  Lot of important stuff to advise about in those pivotal days.  He writes in a Jan 4 email: as you may be aware the "Wuhan pneumonia" investigation is ongoing and highly "explosive".   We will explore the details/directives from this historic meeting in the following chapters ...

The Lancet Emails

Linfa's role in crafting/PR launching the notorious Lancet Statement

The Lancet Emails

Linfa The Interfacer

Firstly, credit to US Right to Know, one of the organizations that has been instrumental in exposing the cover-up conspiracy through a series of FOI requests, including Baric’s emails discussing the drafting of The Lancet Statement. This underlines once again that the answers to all our questions don’t lie in the scientific minutiae - that’s a dead-end - that the suspects love to draw the unwary into.

By far the simplest/fastest route to the origin is to interrogate the chief persons-of-interests - immunity to the first one to flip.

Unfortunately, (spoiler) this is one of those political-thriller movies that goes all the way to the top.  That means: there's no appetite to investigate the crime of the millennium - from the media - or law enforcement - due to the wicked web of institutionalized corruption it's bound to uncover.

Whose interest is served by that?

Not we, the establishment.  We've got everything running exactly the way we like it - rule by the experts - we're the top canopy of the trees.  why would we want to talk about a scary truth that brings all that into question?

No, the push from above is to bury it.  So we can't hold our breaths waiting for the experts to come to our rescue.  Ain't gonna happen.

That leaves netizens like US Right to Know.  As they well-know, the evidence we need is: communications between the actors

When the authorities refuse to investigate it - it's time to investigate the authorities.

Don’t need to be an expert to understand it.  If you can read English, that’s good enough to get started.

We already know that Linfa Wang chaired an emergency response conference at WIV from Jan 11-14.  They don’t do FOI’s in China, so short of Linfa being interrogated and coming clean, unlikey, we won't know the exact details of what was discussed in those meetings.

The details exist fine - the actors know them - but we don't.

Luckily, philosophy allows you to still deduce certain happenings.  Go where science can't (due to data input limitations).  Let's see what we can deduce from the available fragments:

From: Daszak Feb 8, 2020

To: Rita Colwell (LS signatory, EHA director)

You should know that the conspiracy theorists have been very active, targeting our collaborators with some extremely unpleasant web pages in China, and some have now received death threats to themselves and their families.  They have asked us for any show of support we can give them.

Some important points to unpack there:

  1. Built-in use of conspiracy theorist othering
  2. The conspiracy theories started in China. The extremely unpleasant web pages - they were from Chinese citizens. That was all shut down of course - the head perps traced & disappeared.  But the origin of lab-accident speculation, that was later branded as racist in the west, started in Wuhan - where it ran wild.  As it would, when a super contagious coronavirus breaks out next door to the world’s leading coronavirus lab - in the middle of your city.
  3. The death threats - they were against Bat Lady. I don’t doubt they were real (as in online hate speech).  Along with Weibo blowing up with lab-accident speculation, that gives a human insight into the extreme stress Shi Zhengli was under.
  4.  They have asked us for any show of support we can give them. This is pivotal the Lancet Statement was a request from WIV,

Put two and two together: the idea for the Lancet Statement was hatched at the WIV conference.

Wang Linfa interfaced the request shortly after he left China on Jan 18.  He came back with a plan.  He was energized - time to get proactive - be the cool head in a crisis.

The fact Daszak & Baric went full-throttle to execute his request indicates their complicity in the creation of the origin disease. Why else concoct such a transparent scam unless it's an all or nothing play?

It took a Sino/Western Bat Pack to create Covid in the Bat Lab - then one day it blew up ...

whoops

Right.  Now we're in the trenches together dealing with the fall out.  Let's have a WIV Annual Retreat.  Get Linfa here.

Linfa:  We can flip this - make it work for us - our wildest dreams work for us, or:

go meekly - lambs to the slaughter

It's your choice - what have you got in the big moments -  when it really counts?

The Lancet Emails

Do not sign this statement

Working late into the night, Daszak & Karesh (EHA) finish their draft of the Lancet Statement and send it around the cohort:

From: Daszak Feb 6, 2020, 12:43 am

To: Ralph Baric      CC: (redacted - we can assume): Hume Field, Linfa Wang, Billy Karesh, Linda Saif, Jim Hughes (Rita Colwell was added later) (all EHA accredited Bat Packers)

Please review the letter and let me know if you are willing to join Billy Karesh and myself as co-signatories. Also please confirm your title and affiliation that will be shown in the letter.

Linfa has gone this far, he’s likely the one who requested, verbally framed the letter with Daszak, but he’s not stupid.  He knows my work is done - it’s time to quietly step off the ship.  He's a designer - not a signer.

The email arrives at 12:43 am - so late at night.  Linfa reads it - it's got the right points but in Pete’s florid style.  Then he reads the last line:

We declare no competing interests

Linfa calls Daszak immediately on the Bat Phone - advises Daszak & Baric not to sign either.

He’s smart enough not to record his input in writing*, but unfortunately Pete isn’t:

From: Peter Daszak     Sent:Thurs, Feb 6, 2020, 3:16 pm

To: Baric, Ralph    CC: (as above)

Subject: No need for you to sign the “Statement” Ralph!!

I spoke with Linfa last night about the statement we sent round.  He thinks, and I agree with him, that you, me and him should not sign this statement, so it has some distance from us and therefore doesn’t work in a counterproductive way.

Jim Hughes, Linda Saif, Hume Field, and I believe Rita Colwell will sign it, then I’ll send it round some other key people tonight. We’ll then put it out in a way that doesn’t link it back to our collaboration so we maximize an independent voice.

Cheers,

Peter

So this is Linfa trying to talk sense into Daszak on the phone the night before.  Don’t sign it - we’ll get busted.  We have huge COI’s.  We’re too close.  It will link back to us.

Baric gets it straight away.  Fires back an email within the hour:

From: Baric, Ralph      Sent: Thurs, Feb 6, 2020, 4:01 pm

To: Peter Daszak

Subject: Re: No need for you to sign the “Statement” Ralph!!

I also think this is a good decision. Otherwise it looks self-serving and we lose impact. ralph

It will look self-serving - which it totally is - it’s counter productive.  What we need to do is: cover our tracks lest it links back to us.  Everyone’s agreed.

So imagine Linfa’s horror when Daszak goes ahead and signs it anyways!

That’s gotta be vanity from our man Pete - didn’t want to miss out on the Celebrity Scientist publicity ride.

Daszak (along with Lipkin representing Prox-O) then went on to become the voice of the no-lab-leak cohort, tirelessly working the media to promote the Lancet Statement and vilify the conspiracy theorists.

The Guardian came to the party by publishing one Pete's peak-weird diatribes at the height of his fame.  (critiqued on Formosahut, Dec 2020)

It was this addiction to the limelight - vanity - that would largely contribute to the unraveling of the No-lab-leak offensive - exactly as Linfa had tried to warn it would.

The Mother of all Meetings

The Feb 1 Teleconference was historic, but the January WIV normal-Conference - a live event - predates that - it shaped it.

Think about it: if you entertain the possibility that Covid was a GoFFed-up WIV-event, then the contents of a WIV brains-trust meeting from Jan 11-14, right before the virus exploded onto the world stage, is big.  It's (potentially):

the people who caused Covid, conducting an emergency globo-response plan to cover-it-up/cash-in

A plan that was dutifully followed/implemented by the world's leading experts, media, politicians, corporations, global bodies - the whole frightening world where One-Everything flexed its muscle ...

due to Covid

Linfa is Chairman of the Advisory Board - of all that.  Not bad going for an unassuming graduate from Deng's UFWD 20-year-plan to infiltrate western academia.

When it all came down to the Big Moment, when the pressure was on, the Master Veneerist was the coolest head in a crisis - followed shortly after by Farrar.

In Rugby League, they have your Hall-of-Famers - but then there's the pantheon ...

The Immortals

Linfa is another level of immortal.   His actions changed the world, but he may never become famous for it.  Recognized only by the Gods themselves.

But still, it takes a village.  So apart from Linfa & Zhengli (who we covered in May 2020), who were the other attendees at the Meeting of the Millennium?

The Party would have been represented for sure ... along with the bio-bigwigs.  And no-one else.  Same protocol adopted for the Feb 1 Teleconference.

Let's explore some likely attendees at the Annual WIV Retreat ...

Yuan Zhi-ming: WIV Biosafety Boss

image-1645668615974.pngYuan Zhiming, Director Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory, WIV (AP Photo/Mark Schiefelbein)

Ph.D. biotechnology, Sun Yat-sen University, (trained, worked, respectively) in France, Denmark, United States

Deputy Director WIV since 2000 (pre-SARS), Focuses on: drug discovery of aborviruses, genomics, insecticidal proteins, genetic modification of Bacillus spp (a microbial agent similar to Anthrax

2003-present: Chairman Institutional Biosafety Committee, Group leader Sino-French biosafety legislation cooperation.

Bear in mind this:

Gabriel Gras, French bio-security expert:  (The BSL-4 lab) was built under the close cooperation between China and France.  There is no doubt about its compliance with the highest international biosafety standards.  The theory that the virus escaped from the Wuhan lab is not credible.

Xinhua:  There is a "zero percent" chance that .. COVID-19 .. leaked from .. WIV (said) Gras .. (who) was employed as a technical expert at the French embassy in China for the implementation of the French-Chinese cooperation on emerging infectious diseases between 2012 and 2017.

Yuan Zhi-ming was Boss of Sino-French biosafety at the time.  We can guarantee he & Gras worked closely together.  Gras's input is useful for understanding Yuan.

XinHua:  During his stay in China, Gras participated in implementing the 2004 Sino-French Cooperation Agreement in Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases, and supervised the construction and accreditation of the Wuhan Institute of Virology's BSL-4 laboratory in 2017.

Gras explained that operating a BSL-4 lab is very expensive. ..

Tell us somethin we don't know. We're the ones paying for all this ...

Coronaviruses, including the novel coronavirus, belong to BSL-3 or BSL-2 pathogens, rather than BSL-4 ones, and it is common sense that people will not use a BSL-4 facility to study BSL-3 pathogens or a BSL-3 facility to BSL-2 pathogens.

Really? So your confirming BSL-2 labs had them. Bloody hell!

Gabriel Gras: Using a BSL-4 lab to work with a coronavirus is like using a 20-tonne crane to move a 30-kg refrigerator, which would be completely illogical.

Wow!  So firstly, you're arguing Covid is only the 30-kg fridge?  What the hell kinda deadly extinction event bugs are you lifting with your 20-tonne cranes in the BSL-4s?

Secondly, Gabriel Gras, WIV designer, Sino-Francer:  Did you explain your completely illogical argument to your colleague, Yuan Zhiming?  Or Bat Lady & Batman for that matter - or Linfa, Chair of the Bat Advisory Board?

Dazza boasts they'd collected 15 000 bat virus samples, which were stockpiled at the high-security BSL-4 Bat Lab, WIV, as you'd know Gabriel),  including RaTG13, stacks of others from the same Yunnan caves area - man, they mined that Yunnan caves area within an inch of it's life.  Way, way more than the mythical guava miners.  Then expanded to other global hotspots.  Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, West Africa, searching, driven (on the public's dime) to find the Holy Grail of bat virus candidates :

One that can be gain-of-functioned into the Next Disease X.

To be the ones to get there first - in the lab - in the Bat Lab.

Ahead of the curve.  To protect us ...  to develop therapeutics for future control of emerging SARS-like infections (Shi/Daszak, 2016)

WashPostYuan said at the (July 2020) news conference that his team took a virus database offline because of “the large number of malicious attacks,” and he complained that he and his colleagues are under great pressure from rumors.

(Pretty sure Billy Bostickson/Drastic broke that first.)

Yuan Zhiming:  I want to emphasize that .... the Wuhan Institute of Virology has never designed, made or leaked the novel coronavirus.

Yuan re WSJ leaked security report on sick researchers in Oct: I've read it, it's a complete lie.

Not sure i don't agree with him on that.  If there really is a leaked US security report that sheds light on the origin of a humanity shaping bio-event, make it public.  Why not?  That's the murky world of scio-security.  Normal people don't have a security clearance to know the truth.

Key points:

Genetic modification specialist, WIV since pre-SARS, strong French connection, biosafety boss.   If there was a leak , it was Yuan's fault.

Wang Yan-yi:  Director General, WIV.  The photo looks like she's about 17 years old but she's actually 40.

BSc (Beijing University), M.S. (Colorado Uni, School of Medicine), PhD (Wuhan Uni) then joined WIV 2012

Young Scholar Awards 2013, 2014,  WIV since 2012, Director since 2018

Involved in the promotion of antiviral drug Shuang-huang-lian, a Chinese traditional medicine patent, repurposed as a Covid treatment as early as Jan 31, 2020, causing a rush on the drug, though efficacy was later questioned.

Interestingly, a Chinese language article criticizes her as:

a post-80's woman who was relying on her husband's superior position

She did have a meteoric rise from completing academic training at Wuhan University to WIV Director in 6 years:

Her husband is Shu Hong-bing, a renowned scientist at Peking, then Wuhan University -where Yanyi received her BSc, then Phd, respectively, coinciding with Shu's tenures. (MSc Colorado)

In an NBC video, Aug 2020, Wang is asked:  What is your theory on how the virus was able to make it to a city like Wuhan?  Did you ever, at one point, worry that it might have come from your lab?

The response is great. She pauses to think - you can see her mind ticking over - her smile flickering off - she remembers Shi Zhengli's answer - how that turned out ... her eyes roll top left - accessing a memory...

She finds her answer- the faint smile returns like it never left - she calmly lists ways it could have arrived in Wuhan, such as the Cold-Chain Hypothesis, then says:

Wang Yanyi (vid, 2:23): It's certainly impossible the virus was made by, or leaked by, the Wuhan Institute of Virology.  We did not worry that the virus may have been leaked from the institute.  Mainly because the management has always been very strict and standardized.  In the past there have never been any bio-safety accidents such as pathogen leak, or even infection.

Wang Yanyi, different InterviewThe current consensus of the international academic community is that the virus originated from wild animals. But we still don't clearly know what kind of viruses that all different wild species carry across the globe and where the viruses that are highly similar to SARS-CoV-2 are. This is why the cooperation between scientists all over the world is needed to find the answers. Therefore, the issue of origin-tracking is ultimately a question of science, which requires the scientists to make judgments based on scientific data and facts.

Key points: Fast-tracked millennial talent parachuted into management at WIV due partially to husband's influence.  WIV benefited from promotion of dubious Covid treatment.  Not an Interfacer - not on the Linfa/Zhengli/Yuan Zhi-ming level.  Accomplished narrator.

image-1645781815673.pngWu-xiang Guan, Deputy Director General: MD and PhD (Chinese CDC), PI, Viral Replication and Posttranscriptional Regulation Group. BSc in Clinical Medicine (2000), MSc in Virology (2003),Tongji Medical University.

PhD awarded by Institute of Viral Disease Control and Prevention, Chinese CDC (2006).

Research in University of Kansas Medical Center (2007-2009), in Stowers Institute of Medical Research (2010-2012) before joining WIV in 2012 - same year as his boss.

Research: mechanisms of DNA replication of viruses, alternative polyadenylation regulation of viral mRNA and 3’ end biogenesis of noncoding RNA.

Key points: Rocks the gangster haircut. I don't think he is though.  Researching mechanisms of DNA replication, mRNA tech.  Note: It's curious China didn't go the mRNA route with their own vaccines.  Surely they could have if they wanted to.  Did they know something?

He Chang-cai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, since 2013

Ichthyology (fish zoology), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from Jul. 1985 to Jun. 1996.

2000-2007: deputy head General Office of Education Center, then head 2001-2003,  deputy head Office of Organization and Human Resources.

2008 to Aug. 2013: head of General Office, Office of Infrastructure, and assistant of the President of Wuhan Branch, CAS. since 2013,  Corporate Secretary of the Party at Wuhan Branch from Oct. 2005 to Jul. 2013.

Key points: The CCP's man in WIV - same 80's graduate vintage as Linfa Wang. Head of the Office of

Organization.  Good at his job - even if it was a lab-event - the cover-up was very well organized.

Gong Peng,  Deputy Director General:

BSc (1998) and MSc (2001) in Chemistry from Tsinghua University, PhD (2002-2007) University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with Dr. Craig T Martin & Dr. Karsten.  2007-11, research with Dr. Olve B Peersen at Colorado State University.  Joined WIV 2011.

Key Points: Interfacer -10 years at US universities,

Hatching the plan

(work in progress)

The Jan 2020 Meetings would set the One Science lie in motion.  So what were the contents?

Firstly, it wasn't a single meeting, it was a 3-day retreat.

Key points:

Day 1: Fact Finding presentations.  What happened? What do we know - what do we not know?

This is pivotal to how future discussions would have gone.

Scenario A:

WIV was a homegrown GoF event.  Involving international partners EHA,

Action: Go into full cover-up mode. Wild animal, possibly imported.  The Americans did it with Anthrax.  Do that. Our international partners will  sell it their end

Which was what we saw. Seems likely.

Scenario B:

WIV was working closely with US/Singapore/German/French labs, so it's possible a foreign scientist carried it in.  Danielle Anderson was the last foreigner at WIV, right at the time SARS-2 is estimated to have originated.  Did she carry it in as an asymptomatic/mild carrier?

Scenario C:

Was it engineered outside China, by Baric, then smuggled into WIV by an international scientist, say a Daszak?  Knowledge of this GoF breakthrough was being rumoured through a closed-circle of virology/vaxology cohorters.  Problem is we can't do anything with it here due to over-regulation, but trust me ... this is big.

This would explain a few things.  WIV is complicit, but not the source of the leak - could have been a stored at WIV - then passed out to a lower level lab.

Two of WIV's management say

Yuan Zhiming:  I want to emphasize that .... the Wuhan Institute of Virology has never designed, made or leaked the novel coronavirus.

Wang Yanyi (vid, 2:23): It's certainly impossible the virus was made by, or leaked by, the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

This is a windmill tilt, but, they both omit the word stored.  Is that deliberate?  We didn't make it or leak it, but were we storing it - smuggled in by the Bat Pack ... ?

Scenario D: The Military Games: If it's a questionable coincidence that a super-contagious bat virus originated next-door to the world's largest Bat Lab, then the Military Games happening around the same time it took off is also curious.

All of these scenarios would explain the co-ordinated response from the experts that we saw. Which has to be explained first by any theory.

What made the highly-paid network of international world-leading expert scientists/journals betray every principle of science?

There must be a reason.  They can't all be that stupid.  Either way it's a major problem.

Day 2: Narrative consolidation - same as SARS - wuhan market - let the experts decide -

Day 3: Organization, mobilization of plan, Prox-O/Nature, Lancet Statement co-ordination, Feb 1 Teleconf, Tedros
